  3. It's just so magnificent. They had it in the south as we drove through, but I am sure it does not thrive this far north.

  5. Forget-me-nots and iris and other things. We are nowhere near to this - their climate must be much milder.

  6. I know someone will paint it but there is a certain charm about it just the way it is now.

  8. I'm very much afraid you are right.............I made a special point of checking on this tree every day to see it flower. I want one, but like you I don't know if it would live here. There was also a lot of lavender, some of it a deep purple pink, and that does live here so I'm going to try to find some of that too. also ( not shown) I saw a lot of passion flower.............would really like some of that. In fact, on reflection, it seems that if i can't stay there, I just want to bring as much of it as possible into my garden :-)

  22. Hi Mitch.... No its a very dark purple pink lilac tree. I love that tree and looked at it all the time from my little attic bedroom window. Now I want a couple of lilac trees in my garden, as well as a wisteria, but not sure if wisteria would grow this far north.
