Song Saturday, ''Freedom is just another word for nothing else to lose''
On this weekend it just had to be one of my all time favourites from her 'Pearl' album...............
You know I never thought to compare Amy Winehouse with Janis Joplin but you are so right, they could be the same person, both with such a remarkable talent but both on a path to self destruct. I just hope Amy pulls back from this path before it's too late. I love the Pearl album, Janis had such a great voice and I'm sure she died before we had the chance to hear the best of her. Such a loss to us all, I too am glad she shared what she had with us even if it was for such a short time.
...nothin, and thats all that Bobby left meeeee! Feelin good was easy lawd, awww when he sang the blues.....and so on, LOVE Janis and love that song. Another fav of mine is the lesser known song; "Maybe". Have you ever heard that one?.......those windshield wipers slappin' time......ahhhh yeah, you got me singin it all day now!!! ......we sang every song that driver knew.....
i am so thankful that she shared her gifts with us.......even if ever so briefly. i never ever get tired of this song. thanks, loretta. HUGS
ReplyDeleteYes, a great song. The way Amy Winehouse , who happens to have a fantastic voice too, lives her life reminds me of Janis.
