Song Saturday; Billy J Kramer

THE KIDS ARE BACK!!!

And its not that I don’t love them dearly it’s just that sometimes I wish they would, in the words of the song, ‘ ''go away and play outside’’
These images could have come straight out of my childhood, this must be one of the earliest pop songs I remember, oh dear I feel so old.

  1. (afterthought) Hmmmm listened to this a couple of times while posting and realized how times have changes. I think this could be deemed ‘innapropriate’ now. There is reference to ‘keeping secrets with me’ and ‘better not tell on me’, phrases that would be out of the question in pop songs today. What a bloody sad world we live in these days. When I first heard this song 45 years ago thoughts like that would never have entered my head. .

  4. It's a sad reflection of the times we live in. Truly a case of 'innocence lost'

  6. Thanks Loretta. I do remember 'Little Children' and 'Bad to Me' as hits here in the US. Other than that I remember Billy Kramer and The Dakotas because they were popular when I lived in Europe.
