Song saturday; King of the Road.
I used to love this song, its so old, I can't remember the last time I heard it. It seems like an appropriate song to post just before I leave for my little holiday.
This is still heard in the US in advertisements for travel and auto sales. The song and Roger Miller were what we call a crossover hit. Music recorded for a specific genre, such as country and western, crosses over to become a hit on charts for other genres such as popular music or rock.
ohhhh I forgot they made a recording of this.......................It's good :-)
ReplyDeleteRoger Miller was a cool guy:) I loved watching him sing that song on TV.
ReplyDeleteI think I still remember all the words. Have a good holiday.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes sing that while sweeping the floor.
