I would like to introduce a contemporary welsh artist who paints what he calls ‘’roadscapes’’. These are very different to the type of art usually shown but I find his work nostalgic and honest. This is his website

He seems to like trucks like I like flowers.

This is lovely. Too bad it's not a bit bigger.

ReplyDeleteAnother amazing one!
ReplyDeleteDiolch yn fawr Loretta :)))
Very nice !
ReplyDeleteIt seems that the site is yet another BBC site that is not open to the US.
ReplyDeleteI am especially impressed with the detail of these paintings, they look like photographs. This is a very talented artist. My grandson is most impressed with the trucks, since he collects miniatures from around the world.
Oh I'm really sorry about that I didn't notice, I am going to have to start remembering that BBC is only available in Uk, shame cos BBC sites are usually good. I'll go look and see if I can fins another site that is open in US..................back soon. :-)
ReplyDeleteInterestingly not all BBC sites are off limits to us, I view quite a few and we do have BBC America on TV. There must be some reasonable explanation for the viewing limitations. There are sites that are only available in the US. I'll have to look into that, curiosity you know. :-}

ReplyDeletetry this one, this is where i found a couple of the paintings. Not as good as the BBC one but better than nothing I guess
This is a version that is available in the US.

I found it by searching the artist's name. I'll do that in the future. Thank you.

ReplyDeletethis one is his own web site, should have put that one here in the first place
That works and is very nice, thank you.
ReplyDeleteThis is quite different to other subjects you have presented. I'm looking at these paintings and seeing them as linear drawings that have been rendered. There's a playful use of bright colour here as well as the interest of the detail on the vehicles. These are the sort of images that would appeal to a wide age group from young to old.
