A little animal magic down on the farm.




During our weekend of local sightseeing we stopped off here for lunch. It's a working farm but like many farms, has 'diversified'. They have a cafe serving home cooked food, a farm shop, selling farm produce and a gift/ craft shop selling local hand made gifts. Just couldn't leave without a few animal photos, i did think maybe I could try a couple of animal paintings. I especially like the angus cattle.

  3. I think they are called Indian runners but not sure, they were very pretty little things, so black that their wings shone blue if you know what i mean

  8. We have an Angus herd here locally. The Gerlof herd. The best beef you can buy anywhere! I try to get a joint for christmas. Yum!

  14. Is the little brown one a baby. We don't seem to have ducks like these. These ducks are right out of Beatrice Potter.

  15. yep its a chick, I think its a baby black duck because the chicks for the white duck are usually yekllow :-)

  20. Love the Highland cattle shots they are such beautiful beasts, and those must be Jemima's great~ great grandchildren~ I wonder how many greats that would be in puddle duck lives ? Beautiful country side !

  24. Ahh, they're not actually black, but I've stil not seen these particular colours on a duck before. Any idea if it's a rare breed?
