Art Sunday, John Lavery, illustrations
SIR JOHN LAVERY (1856 - 1941) painter Born Belfast
I was drawn to this painting by the colours, and by the interesting placement of the subject. To produce such subtlety yet such colour and shade is an achievement for any artist. the lilac colour of the water...wonderful. The paintings by Lavery are very beautiful.
These are just beautiful paintings. What a touch the artist had. You can imagine the activity taking place no matter how subtle. I can almost hear the geese. Thank you.
I always find it amazing that so many paintings look like photographs, but then sometimes photos look like paintings.
