BLOGGERS UNITE

On October 15th bloggers everywhere will publish posts that discuss poverty in some way. By all posting on the same day we aim to change the conversation that day, to raise awareness, start a global discussion and add momentum to an important cause.

WHY??

Every blogger has a unique voice, audience and perspective. By speaking to their readers on topic about an important issue we can discuss global issues like poverty in a new and hugely multi-faceted way. And from discussion springs action

  2. We hate poverty in the US. One sees bumper stickers like "Can't feed 'em? Don't breed 'em?" Poor people are called White Trash and Trailer Trash and worse if they are black. Perhaps Barack Obama will do something about it if he gets elected in November. I will do what I can.

  4. I beg to differ that not all people who are poor are white trash-but there are a lot of white trash who feel we the working people owe them a living.I work with something in germany called 'Die Tafel' means the table and we collect food from all sorts of places that donate to us and we have a store where we repackage and then sell it for very very low prices and so I see lots of poor people and believe you me they are very different from 'white trash'.

  6. Thanks for the link, Loretta. It certainly is time to consider helping the humanity instead of the vicious power struggle. I'll work one up, too!

  7. I don't imagine anyone is poor by choice, and it doesn't help anything by putting a label on them. I'll participate.
