Song Saturday; The Marriage of Figaro

'Che soave zeffiretto' - Mozart's 'The Marriage Of Figaro'

I have only one complaint about this piece of music, and that it; it’s too short. It finishes too soon and leaves a hunger for more.

  1. This is a wonderful aria, a duet by two lovely-voiced sopranos.

  2. Lovely duet from Le Nozze..., one of my favourite operas. Very nice voices too, although the countess could be a bit more expressive. It's a short duet but the whole opera is a gem, it's a pity so many people only became familiar with it because it's part of the music score of a movie.

  3. Lina...........I bow to your superior knowledge.................lol, sure you know a lot more about it than I do. actually this was a happy accidental find. I was looking through youtube searching for something else and came across this, I just really liked it but thought it ended too suddenly.

  4. You know what I like to do, I choose a musical piece, in this case an aria or duet and check all the videos , with different orchestras, singers or conductors. It's fascinating. About this short duet my favourite countess is Renée Fleming and the best Susanna is Cecilia Bartoli, because she is a mezzo, although this soprano does a very good job too. I have no idea whether anybody became fond of opera because of blogs , but it's the easiest and fastest way of getting into that world.
If you have the chance, go see the opera. Some operas are boring and too long, Mozart's are delightful.

    Have a lovely evening, hug.
