Good evening one and all :) Still having a few minor problems posting which is why I'm not doing much at the moment (sorry poetry wednesday nothing from me this week). BUT; am getting a bit worried about things I have read re Multiply owning copyright to every thing we post. Have therefore decided to delete all my drawings and paintings from the site until I can be sure. Maybe I'm being over cautious but I can always post them again later if there is nothing to worry about. Have a pleasant evening every one.

  1. I'm going to read theTOS again. That sounds like Facebook to me. What problems are you having, Loretta?

  3. From Terms of Service:
"You retain all ownership rights in your Member Content. However, by posting Content to the Web site, you automatically grant, and you represent and warrant that you have the right to grant, to Multiply (and its successors) an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, assignable, royalty free, worldwide license to use, copy, perform, display, distribute and to prepare derivative works of such Content in connection with the Website and the Service, and to grant and authorize sublicenses of the foregoing."

So I'm not a lawyer but it sounds like we retain the copyrights but by posting we grant Multiply right to use, display, etc. our writing, photos and art. Know any lawyers??

  4. Where are you reading that Loretta? It was a rumour last year, because some other site tried to do it, but public outcry had them back off. I thought that Multiply said that "we retain the copyrights but by posting we grant Multiply right to use, display, etc. our writing, photos and art." as Bennett said.

  5. Not sure what the problems for you are, but hope you get the bugs worked out soon. I posted for Poetry Wednesday, only because I had a poem saved to draft. lol
And no, I don't think you are being overly cautious. Better safe than sorry.

  7. well then it sounds like to my we don't have copyright, because then multiply couldn't use our content as they please. I didn't know about this.

  10. I'm thinking it would not be that big a deal if they reproduced my stuff and maybe even kind of an honour. It's not like I would ordinarily make much moolah from it. :-)))

  11. I guess I should count myself lucky to not have the creative talent most of you have so I don't have to worry about things being used without my permission.

  12. Good afternoon every one and thanks for all your replies. I've been a bit busy with work and family these last few days which didn't leave a lot of time for sorting things out here, but this afternoon I have a bit of time and things here do seem to have settled, so I'm hoping maybe I'll be able to post something.
My problems were, the filters did not work at all, every filter just showed all posts no matter how the filter was set and often when I tried to post I was told there had been a 'problem' and I was returned to Multiply home page. Also it was impossible for me to scroll down a page so only the very top portion of any thing was available to me.
Now things seem to work if run internet explorer to use Multiply, if I run firefox there is no way I can use Multiply.........how weird is that?? I've uninstalled and reinstalled firefox several times and still Multiply will not work in it........so I'm just resigned to using internet explorer, which i'm not happy about...........but its better than nothing.
Seems you are all right about the copyright, once we post anything here multiply take the right to use that material however, where ever and when ever they please.

  13. That is so weird Loretta. Seems to be an isolated problem. Everything works exactly the same for me. Multiply just took some of its features and grouped them differently into a left rail instead of scattered all over. I think it's much more efficient.

  14. I too think the new Multiply is neater. Too bad you can't use FF. I suppose it's not the resolution of your screen. One of my friends has the same size laptop that I have, but she's got the icons and everything bigger than I have and it really bothers me to do anything on her computer.

  15. I've just spent a little time reading some stuff on user support and it seems i'm not alone, there are others who experience similar things. I'm not too worried because i remember the last time i had problems on Multiply, it drove me nuts trying to sort it out and thn one day, for no reason, every thing returned to normal. last time it took ages to sort it self out but this time things seem to be settling down quite quickly. I even think that eventually I will be able to use firefox again. Think this lateat upgrade was pretty big and complicated and there are just 'glitches' on the system that need to be ironed out or left to settle. Just noticed i can't use spell check, this is the third time i've tried to post using spell check first, if this posts it means I can post but not if I spell check it first................could be interesting knowing what my spelling is like :)
