Initially I was drawn to just the first nine paintings, ready to 'dismiss' the portraits. Then the longer I looked, the more that I saw and enjoyed. I like them all.
I am glad you like them, I try to find lesser known artists from different parts of the world and I don't think anyone has sown an Icelandic artist before which is partly why I chose him. Personally I like his portraits, the more I study them the more I realise how good he is at drawing. A few simple lines, all put down quite quickly and with no room to change any thing, and you have a portrait with a good likeness. That really is very clever.
This sort of painting, to me, is something that could be used to illustrate novels. Reminds me of some that I might have read in childhood or the 70s. I haven't read your blog yet, so I'll check that out.
I think he did this series of house paintings as some sor tof commission.............they are actual houses that belong to people so I guess its a bit like getting a house portrait done.
