I believe that this painting was the inspiration for one of the grandest musical productions in movie history. The film is "The Great Ziegfeld", 1936. The Busby Berkley extravaganza is still breathtaking and gives the 'stairway to heaven' feeling that I get from "Jacob's Ladder".
I found an intact video of that production number from The Great Ziegfeld, 1936. That is the tenor Dennis Morgan singing, before he became a star in the 1940's and 50's.
its ok Frank, I know this video doesn't 'fit' with Blake in a traditional sense but I can see how you arrive here and it is in a way relevant. Anyway.................I'm a sucker for old B/W musicals :-))
So far this is my favorite. These religious themes do not attract me but the rendering of Adam and Eve in this painting shows a wonderful knowledge of anatomy.
I like this one as well. I see...man the creator and thinker. The title may say different though as the artist has an unfortunate religious streak in his work.
wooah, the ultimate blog Blake gallery here. Many of these pictures I haven't seen.

Loretta, please feel free to delete the video if you would like. It really doesn't fit with your album. Frank
