a 'CRAFTY' bit of protection for my phone.

My daughters bought me a smart new phone for my birthday. A touch screen phone, never had one of those before...........oh ... the technology astounds me. BUT..............couldn't help noticing that within a couple of days the little plastic cover that sticks over the screen, (the screen saver)..........was already scratched, so I made it a little coat for protection. This makes it look far more at home with all my other low tec  belongings...............:-)

  2. How sweet.... and there was me thinking that you had found some ingenious way of not being tracked by Big Brother...crafty it is yes, but not in the way I'd anticipated, very nice though :-)

  4. I hope you got a good screensaver to replace the cheap one they normally send. They are less likely to scratch or peel. That is a cute phone coat. Congratulations on the new phone.

  6. You can buy special, very hard, scratch resistant clear plastic film that adheres to the screen and does a very good job of protecting it.

  8. Did it peel right off easily? If so that was just a light film to protect it in transit. The stuff I'm talking about is an aftermarket item which, once applied does not come off easily. Here's a link to the stuff I use.

  9. Many of those mobiles have a GPS chip. When you send a message, the GPS tells people where you are. Tom says as long as your phone is on, it transmits your location. If you don't like this, you should be able to turn it off.

  10. I did wonder about this because the phone shows you where you are on 'googlemaps'.........it doesn't surprise me in the least, I don't know why they don't just microchip us all at birth, I'm sure thets where we're heading anyway .
