Sunday Morning Velvet underground

And a nother Sunday dawns.

I took this photo a couple of Sundays ago by Montrose basin. That was a lazy Sunday spent watching boats and gulls and doing a bit of drawing. There's not a lot of sunshine around here today, not that the weather makes any difference to me. For me its NOT going to be another lazy Sunday, its  another day of stripping walls.

But first, coffee and music.
Velvet Underground Sunday Morning.

  2. Hi Loretta hope the stripping is going well ;-) Good choice of videos especially the vintage Velvet Underground Warhol film shots. Is it just me and my age, or did bands really look a lot cooler back in the late 60s than they do now?

  3. good morning
age or not..............they WERE a lot cooler then ......... no one had ever done any thing like Velvet Underground before.
not that my kids would agree so I guess it is an age thing. :-)

  5. Morning Loretta. Great song choices to start Sunday. I'd never heard Bryan Ferry's version of this song before. I'm agreeing with the age thing, too. Groups were most definately cooler back then. Hope the day goes well and you get a lot done with the paper-stripping.

  7. I do remember this one, so I must have heard some of the album at some stage, although I'm more familiar with the album that preceeded it, "These Foolish Things", which was a great album of covers. I just Googled the track listing for this album and the only ones I recall clearly are "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" and this one, which I loved:

  8. No decorating, It's Sunday and you'll be cursed.

I swear if I could find the bloke who first thought it was a good idea to paint pretty patterns on his cave walls which eventually led to wallpaper and decorating I'd punch him into the ground...........:)

  10. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
    wallpaper stripping complete.....................:-)
next on 'to do' list, figure way to make skirtings & door facings look half decent without having to pay joiner to replace, then fill holes in walls, paint ceiling, then hang paper, sounds ok if you say it fast enough.

  11. yeah I like that one too, in fact I like the whole album. More recently Rod Steward has recorded a lot of these old songs on his 'Great American Songbook', albums, think I much prefer Bryan Ferry though

  12. If my greatest sin is decorating on the sabbath I think I'm doing OK, believe me it could be a lot worse. :-)
you would destroy the prehistoric to personalise our homes .............oh the sacrilege.
