Peter Gabriel; New Blood Orchestra.

We all remember Peter Gabriel; lead singer, flautist and founder member of Genesis. Most memorable are the flamboyant costumes and his stage presence. He followed Genesis with a prolific solo career and then became an international political activist.
And now……he’s still a political activist, …………..
but he’s also gone and got himself an orchestra………………

  1. Cool Loretta.
We are big Peter Gabriel fans here. My husband especially has loved Peter Gabriel ever since high school. I have known of him since Genesis.
What we didn't know but learned a few years ago is that Peter Gabriel is born on our son Gabriel's birthday. February 13th.
And they both have the name Gabriel. Which is pretty cool too, I think.

  3. I caught his performance on 'Later' recently. I was really impressed with the orchestral sound. Gives his classic songs a new edge. Red Rain and Biko are two of my fave songs of his.

  4. I know what you mean...........and I always watch 'later...' too. As I listen to the orchestra...........can't help thinking he still sounds like Genesis. It doesn't seem to matter how many incarnations of himself and his music he comes up with, the core remains exactly what we first encountered in Genesis

  7. I heard most of the album in HMV today, while I was broswing....stunning. It's amazing how well Gabriel's songs adapt to orchestral pieces.
I would have bought it, but I'm on a CD budget these days. It's on my Christmas Wish List though.
