Pattie Griffin, Mary..................

Stayed up very late tonight and watched a documentary about American servicemen coming home from Iraq. It's so sad, these young men have seen things and done things that will haunt them forever. Some are physically disfigured and disabled, but its the mental anguish that makes it so sad.
This song played at the end

  2. Excellent song and performance.

"Man is the only animal that deals in that atrocity of atrocities, War. He is the only one that gathers his brethren about him and goes forth in cold blood and calm pulse to exterminate his kind. He is the only animal that for sordid wages will march out... and help to slaughter strangers of his own species who have done him no harm and with whom he has no quarrel.... And in the intervals between campaigns he washes the blood off his hands and works for "the universal brotherhood of man" - with his mouth."

  3. These post traumatic stress factors are not of course restricted to US service personnel, the psychological harm done to British soldiers is incalculable and that is why we must oppose these bankers wars that make them rich while slaughtering young people on all sides, maiming them or causing them deep psychological harm.
Our government serves Wall Street and our soldiers serve corrupt politicians like Liam Fox who treats their suffering with contempt as he and his friends laugh at us and steal our money.

Cameron and Clegg are in the pay of alien enemies of the British people and do their bidding no matter what harm befalls us as a result of their treachery.

  4. I know this...........its awful...........in fact I only realised it was about US servicemen AFTER I started watching. These poor men were saying how they participated in the murder of innocent civilians including women and children, they have the vision of dead children imprinted in their mind. I have absolutely no doubt the UK servicemen could tell exactly the same tale. One of the men interviewed had spent time in prison because he spoke up, he said he realised the only real freedom lies in following your conscience.

  5. One of the novels I bought and read this summer deals with the problems servicemen (and women) have from serving in Iraq and the help which they don't receive.

  6. Beautiful song.

"War. What is it good for? Absolutely nothing". Might be just the words of a song, but it's still true.
