Song Saturday, When the leaves come falling down.
I’ve been very cold these last few days. The drop in temperature exactly coincided with my downstairs neighbour moving out. I now live above an empty apartment and suddenly I realize how much heat must have travelled up from her home into mine. I'm going to miss my neighbour, she is a single mother of two and moved in a couple of months before me, we've both been here 9 years now, will be quite odd without her there. I’ve met the new tenant, but she is not moving in until the landlord has sent the contractor’s in to fit a new kitchen. I’m thinking its going to get a whole lot colder here with that apartment being left empty, and with workmen going in and out, leaving doors and windows open, for at least a month, maybe more …………………Brrrrrrrr
Have a horrible feeling we are in for another long hard winter. I think thats the way its going to be here from now on. The temperature dropped a couple of days ago, I guess thats it now until spring. Hope you manage to go south again for a while at least.
I think you are probably right about it being colder. I remember that an ex-colleague never had to put the heating on in the winter because they lived between two flats and was never cold. Of course, their building was lnown as The Honeycombs because that's what it looks like. Good luck with your new neighbour.
LOve the Van Morrison song (love all of his songs!!), but not keen on the other one. It's not the artists, but the song that I don't like. I'm a big fan of Norah Jones.
Hi Nemo, would love to have heating turned on downstairs but its a local authority let and the tenants take full responsibility for heating etc so when its empty..........every thing is turned off until the next tenant moves in
Nice song thanks, yep I'm also great fan of Van Morrison, seen him a couple of times over the years and he never fails to impress. did you know Rod Stewart also recorded Baby its cold outside, I almost posted that version but I love Nora Jones voice
awwww thanks.................I could do with a new pair of warm slippers. I almost bought one of those big cosy feet warmer things that look like one huge slipper instead of two. This one was bright green and had a frog face...............then I thought about it and decided I would be unsafe, I would forget I had both feet in the same slipper and go to stand up and walk away.............then I would fall flat on my face :-)..... thanks for the slippers Nemo
its a shame..............I quite like the idea of the enormous green grinning frog permanently attached to my feet.. but I would be a health a nd safety hazard.
loved your song choices
ReplyDeleteI hope you do not have another cold winter like the previous two.
ReplyDeletethanks Kathy................
