for loretta's contacts

Someone sent me this as an example of what can be done with clever editing, thanks!! I actually saw the elephant/forest picture for the first time a couple of years ago but someone has found it and sent it to me all over again as an example of what ‘adobe photoshop CS2’ can do in talented hands. I am amazed at the number of replies I received, some as emails, some as blog messages, some as part of messenger conversations, and so on, so……. Thanks everyone. The consensus of opinion appears to be; it is a pretty dam awesome picture if just a tad artistically enhanced and not exactly as nature intended. So thought I’d share a few of the answers, they included;
Wow!! Amazing, very clever!
The dancing tree is just a tree. The brain is electrochemical machine one of its primary functions and drives is to create patterns out of chaos. Why fix a photo. Such images are all around us.
Wonder how that was done?
It’s hard to judge from a photo actually, but in my town, there is a place called “coconut cave", we can see many similar shapes in the rock inside the cave. Anyway, this dancing queen is awesome!
Great blog, I really can’t say as to whether it is real or not but it is stunning.
haha...this photo seems to be a mix of reality and artistic, the skills of the photographer, combined with a good knowledge of photo editing. The camera must be of very good quality and the person would be in the air to get such a clear photograph, otherwise the photographer is a genius.
This is a fake, it is a merge of two photographs, not sure of the technology involved but it is too perfect a shape to be ‘real’, it just seems to be two photographs put together.
This one is my favourite, my clever young friend from India was the only person to notice the black background, once that was pointed out, well for me that was the real give away, thanks!!
Just a passing thought - if this photo is real, then it must have been clicked at night due to dark surroundings around the picture. For this, some external light source would have been used as the tree looks so bright. Now why would anyone take so much trouble and not simply click the photo during daytime!!
So, the best we can do is to enjoy such photos and leave the question of whether it is real or not to some researcher or archaeologist.
And with that whimsical though, I bid you all good night
